I am interested in meeting with others interested in prison reform issues. I currently work at San Quentin Prison and have witnessed first hand the many issues that need to be addressed. In particular, I would like to focus a lot of energy on amending California's 3-Strike Law. At the end of December petitions will be printed in hopes of getting a new initiative put on the 2008 ballot. This is purely a grassroots undertaking so we will be relying on volunteers to gather the nearly 500,000 signatures needed to qualify for the ballot. Aside from this issue, I know there are a lot of other things that need to be addressed so I look forward to meeting others that share this same passion for prison reform. Our united effort can make a difference!

    • “ Annette, I rode all the way over from the Mission and I was 6 minutes late and nobody was there. I stayed for 10 minutes then left. Truth is I don't expect to be able to put any time or effort into this for a few months but it is a keen interest of mine. I also have a related project that I will be working on increasingly over the next months and years and so I wanted to meet you and others involved in this issue and create some synergy.
