No rating yet This group was created to bring together others interested in prison reform issues in the Bay area. We will not have a meeting in December, but will try to get this rolling in January if people are interested. Also, anyone that is interested in being an assistant organizer please let me know and I'll add you. That allows you to schedule your own prison reform meetups! :) Personally, my main focus right now is trying to change the 3-strikes law so feel free to email me at: amend3strikes@gmail. I am interested in meeting with others interested in prison reform issues. I currently work at San Quentin Prison and have witnessed first hand the many issues that need to be addressed. In particular, I would like to focus a lot of energy on amending California's 3-Strike Law. At the end of December petitions will be printed in hopes of getting a new initiative put on the 2008 ballot. This is purely a grassroots undertaking so we will be relying on volunteers to gather the nearly 500,000 signatures needed to qualify for the ballot. Aside from this issue, I know there are a lot of other things that need to be addressed so I look forward to meeting others that share this same passion for prison reform.
